True to its original nature it's a mixed commercial and residential neighborhood with restaurants, nightspots, coffee shops, yoga studios and more. This neighborhood is not fully gentrified; it's a neighborhood and not a luxury location. A mix of apartments, Airbnbs, homes being renovated and long term Newport working class residents, changing from one house to the next.

Corkscrew Cottage is located in Kerry Hill, just west of Newport's vibrant and hip Restaurant Row. Walk to The Fifth Element with their outdoor Beer Garden, Malt with it's eclectic cocktail selection, hip and funky Caleb & Broad for cocktails and open air dining, or check out the outside dining at Tavern! For day-tripping in Downtown Newport you're a 15 minute walk through Washington Square, Brick Market Place and America's Cup Avenue to Brick Market Place.
Guests have the entire home to themselves. Private key codes are provided to each guest before arrival with a coded door entry at the front. The basement has nothing in it but guests can access using a key found in the utility closet under the stairs.
An authentic, historic 19th century cottage in Newport Rhode Island. Loaded with historic architectural details but lovingly updated with modern conveniences and comforts. The main floor has an open plan living and kitchen with a breakfast bar. There is a full bath with custom walk in shower and laundry room on the main floor as well as a dining room with a desk if someone HAS to work on their vacation! The second level offers three queen beds; two in private bedrooms and one in the common space that connects the two bedrooms. The bedrooms share a large updated bath with a tiled shower (no bath tub). Each room has it's own AC unit. This is an OLD home and the second level is true to it's historic nature. This home retains its historic nature in it's wide planked floors, low slanted ceilings and small overall space.
Walk to downtown in 5 minutes, Broadway and Washington Square in less. 5 minute drive to Newport's Easton's Beach or 10 minutes to Sachuest (2nd) Beach in Middletown!
RIPTA offers free loop hop on/hop off trolley transportation connecting the North End and downtown to tourist destinations on service route 67, which loops down Bellevue Avenue and onto the Salve Regina University campus, as well as route 68, which begins at Newport’s CCRI campus with stops along Memorial Boulevard and Easton’s Beach. You can drive to the visitor’s center downtown and park for a $2 daily fee if with a trolley voucher. Interested riders can check the bus schedule online or obtain a copy at the Newport Visitor Information Center at 21 Long Wharf Mall. The shuttles will depart at intervals between 15 and 20 minutes, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, from 8:40 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 9:40 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.

Uber and LYFT are plentiful, and it's easy to bike around town.
Bikes are a great way to get around but remember, this is a colonial era city with very narrow streets which are congested in the summer. Be careful!
